THE RETREAT

One of the reasons we went to Costa Rica was to check out Linda's home for the past 5 months. Nothing she had told me previously had prepared me for what I saw. We went & visited Linda first thing & I have to admit I was worried. The retreat she has been living at is in a VERY remote location. Everything I saw in Costa Rica was remote, but this was like serious remote. Each little village, which consisted of about 10 sheds that was actual homes were about 5 miles apart, which doesn't seem too far away until you've driven the roads. There roads are comparable to a rocky, dirt lane through a field. Bouncy, dusty and slow moving! (40 mph was really haulin') Anyways, since Linda's place was the first place we visited, I was in shock when we finally pulled in the driveway to the "Hacienda Del Sol" and saw this.......
I didn't know how to react to this, in fact all 4 of us in unison said "what the ????" And we were all pretty much at a loss for words for the next half hour as we incredulously toured the retreat. It wasn't until we hiked way up the hill to Linda's tree house before any of us could really find words to adequately describe our thoughts. Jared was the first to break the awkward silence with, "This is freakin' awesome! I could totally live here!"I must say, she has an amazing view!
The commode is a bit open for my preference

As is the shower

But in all honesty, it's tons better than many of the other houses, it has an actual floor and I'm realizing that's a luxury in this part of the world.
The scariest thing about Linda's temporary home was that she woke up one morning to an enormous snake skin above her bed in the beams that she had never noticed before.

Wow, Linda, that's all I can really think to say, WOW!

Wow! That gate was....Awesome?! I bet you're glad you don't live there. I'd be a little worried about my sister too. Looks like your having a great adventure!

Jo...you did such a good job documenting this, I should just send people to your blog if they want to know more. I've been too lazy to write lately! I sure enjoyed having you visit me. Come back for a cleanse next year! Then you'll really have a lot of unusual experiences to write about. :)
