What An Airdhead!

Ben is a gomer. He is always saying goofy things. These are a couple conversations that I've witnessed of his that really crack me up.

THE MOOD NECKLACE

Andy: Hey Ben, did you know that this necklace changes colors by what mood your in?"

Ben: "No, like what?"

Andy: "Well, if your in a bad mood it turns black & if your in a happy mood it turns purple,"

Ben: "So what color does it turn if your in the mood to build something?"

Andy: "Uh, I don't know"

NAPOLEON DYNAMITE

(Ben was reciting lines from the movie Napoleon Dynamite)

Dallin (Ben's friend): "Did you know they shot that movie in Idaho?"

Ben: "Shot what?"

Dallin: "Napoleon Dynamite"

Ben: "Napoleon Dynamite's dead?"

Dallin: "No, they made the movie in Idaho"

Ward Summer Celebration

Now all 4 kids are gone, I just have Francine home with me. Nakia is at Terri's in Salt Lake doing the horse thing, Andy & Angelea are at their Aunt Kathy's in Preston & Ben is at his dads. Man I needed a break! Summer is long and I get quite sick of cooking, cleaning, breaking up fights, fixing food and cleaning more! So I am basking in this quiet time, however we were kept busy preparing all the food & arrangements for the "Ward Summer Celebration" that was so conviently held at our house on the 19th. That was alot of work to get the yard & food ready and everything set up for anywhere from 100 to 300 people. I think there was about 150 people that showed up. We (meaning Tello) cooked a pig underground & dutch oven potatoes. Everyone else brought a side dish to go along with it. We had a band that played folk music and then Tello & Weldon (Our good buddy from Preston) sang & played the banjo. Weldon & Julie and their beautiful new baby girl, Jade, spent the night so we stayed up really late laughing & catching up. I love those guys!

Boating

We recently purchased a boat from my brother, (He got a newer, cooler one). Last summer I had said to Tello that by next may I will have a boat, and although I didn't get the boat until the end of June, I did get one! Amazing how affirmations work. I'm totally into this "secret" stuff.

So we get this boat and take it out a few times to Jensens Grove, which is quite a small little swimming hole, but it's great for an hour or two of boating. I grew up water skiing and tubing so I just assume ALL kids love it. However our first day out we only had one brave child, Nakia, who actually stayed on the tube so long she got burns on her elbows. But even she wasn't brave enough to water ski. So the next time out I had to show the kids how it's done! The last time I water skied was 14 years ago when I was pregnant with Nakia (my how time flies) but water skiing is like riding a bike and it just comes back to ya. So ofcourse I got up on my first try, & was feeling pretty confident when BAM! I wiped out hard core! I was so sore I could hardly move for 4 days. What a wus! So our next time out Angelea, Andy, & Colton (the boys friend) braved up and got on the tube, had a great time & so next was Ben's turn. He did not want to go and get saying "I just don't feel good about this" After awhile Tello was fed up with him and threw him in. The whole time he was bawling & screaming. I figured once he got on the tube he would decide it really was fun & he'd chill out & enjoy it. NOPE! After about 5 minutes of being pulled on the tube, screaming bloddy murder the whole time, Tello finally stopped and let him get in the boat. Boy was he MAD!

The Part the made me want to rip my hair (& his) out was the next day he comes to me and says, "I don't really hate you mom, I just wasn't use to that tube, but now I am & I want to go again. Can we go today?"

Sometimes Ben's obsessive behavior does not work to his benefit!

Francine loved being pulled on the tube, and she threw a fit as well, but it was because she had to get off. She was so cute. She waved to everbody as we went past them.

My Family

Tina- This post is for you!

It's kinda abnormal these days to have such a large family, 5 kids, what the heck were we thinking? His, Hers & Ours actually. Our daughters are 8 months apart, Angelea (in the pink) is 14, Nakia is 13 (thank goodness they are in different grades in school) The boys are 3 months apart, Andy (standing next to me) and Ben are both 9 and are in the same grade. Then the sweet, happy little angel on Tello's lap is Francine. She is 8 years younger than the boys so it was like starting over. And my dog, Rusty, who seriously thinks he's my baby but has actually lost some ground since Francine has come along, poor guy. Nakia and Ben are mine, Angelea and Andy are Tello's and together we make one big happy family, almost like the Brady Bunch only a little more dysfunctional!

Garbage Theft

I'm pretty confident we are officially under police surveillance. Our FULL garbage can was stolen the other day. Not a trace of garbage left behind and the garbage company swears it wasn't them. They suggested to look around down the road, maybe it got caught on a piece of farm equipment and drug, however the garbage can was up the drive way next to the house, but I checked anyways. I would assume that if some kid was pulling a prank they would have dumped the garbage out first before stealing the garbage can, but since they took all the garbage with them, my only other option is to presume it's the police. Which in a sense I could believe. Angelea does take a weekly shot and although I tell her time and time again to dispose of the needle in the proper disposal container, I have found numerous needles in the garbage. So, sure, why wouldn't they think we are druggies? Tello does have a sketchy past^0^

THE DRAG QUEEN!

This little show happened back in April, but I just found the pictures. This Drag Queen Pageant was for RPAC (Realtors Political Action Committee) Tello and 7 other manly men dressed up as women, displayed a talent, did a run way walk, had an interview and got REALLY REALLY DRUNK! That is all of them except Tello, which is why he got harassed the most... "How could any body possibly do that sober?" Was the question of the night for him.

By the end of the night I had a massive headache and my cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. Isn't Tello just stunning? He went all out. He bought that sexy gown from DI for 6 bucks. He had on long red finger nails, fake eye lashes with splarkles in them and notice the tiara, he borrowed that from Francines doll.

Tello agreed to do this "Miss RPAC Pagent" because he said it would get his face out there so people would know him.... After his talent of pole dancing to "If You Want My Body & You Think I'm Sexy" By the gay Rod Stewart with a spotnatneous lap dance to one of the male judges, I'm not quite sure that was the recognition he was going for...

The guy who won, went all out by shaving his entire body! He deserved to win just for doing that. He actually had quite an attractive frame with his fake boobs and all.. He did a ballet to the nut cracker. HILARIOUS!!!!

What a bunch of hotties..... to somebody I'm sure!
