A Few Photos Worth Smiling About

The Tiger Growl

Tello and Andy had a lovely float down the Snake River

My precious little princess

This horse was either parched or just very animated, either way I thought it was funny that he was sucking on the hose like it was a straw.

Moments before the giant hot dog fails them

Francine was so excited to go hang out with Film on the swing while she played the guitar, that she chose not to wear clothes.

Nate & Ben are manly men!

FYI: There are NO Kangaroos in Austria!

Just my warped sense of humor kicking in, why else would I think it's cute that a 2 year old is slaying the missionaries?

GO RAVENS!

This is Ben's first year playing football. The 5th grade team for Snake River is The Ravens. They have a game every saturday for 2 months & they have won more games than they've lost. They're doing pretty good! Ben had an awesome tackle and recovered a fumble in last weeks game, it was pretty impressive!

My Special Little Nephew

Even though Christopher thinks his poop don't stink, we all know it does & we all still love that little helmet wearing, short bus riding, Wednesday's Child :)

Broadway Nights

The Snake River High School choirs performed their first of 2 "Broadway Nights" shows last night. Let me just say....... Snake River's got Talent!!!
This is the Girls A capella Choir & the Man Choir. It is for the Freshman & Sophomores. Angelea is a part of this choir.
The Chamber Singers is what all Snake River vocalists are aiming for. It's reserved for the best of the best and only upper class men are allowed in. They are truly talented kids with bright futures!
Some of the kids I know are: Mckay Harper, Terrell Bair, Jake Arbon, Christian Esplin, Braxton Mecham, ?, ?, Landon, ?
Amanda Burt, ? Marlene Gumpoldsberger
McKenzie Bench, ?, ?, Krysten Young, ?
?,?,?,?,?
Marlene sang "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" She is the exchange student who is totally leaving her mark in the US!
Nakia's really tall buddy here is Braxton Mecham. He is a totally AWESOME bass singer. He can go lower than anyone I've ever met! He sang "Old Man River"

Varsity Soccer

Nakia is on the high school varsity soccer team this year. She's one of 2 freshman on the team that has 10 seniors. They are doing really good, I think they've only lost 2 games, tied 2 or 3 and won the rest, which is quite a few considering they have 3 games a week! I think they've won 12 or so games. I should probably double check those stats....
Nakia plays a lot! She is one aggressive little munchkin!

Rachael Balls (12), Saige Goff (12), Kylee Keller (12), Adele Smout (12), Stephanie Anderson (12), Alycen Turpin (12)
Ruby Sanchez (10), Courtney Steinbaugh (11), Trecia Kunz (12), Hannah Hutchison (12),
Lisa VanOrden (10), Jennifer Rivvera (12), Whitney Powell (9), Cheyenne Hernandez (10), Nakia Huffman (9)

August 19th...

It's been almost a month now since school started. I have been so busy that I finally decided to just post some photos with some captions. Makes for a mighty poor journal, but it's probably best not to dig too deep into my mind these days..... It's awfully frightening there :)

Marlene is our oldest daughter. She's 18 and is a senior.

Chavisa, aka Film, is 16. She's a junior.

Angelea is 15 & she's a sophomore.

Nakia, the baby of the high school girls, is 14 & she's a freshman.
I don't think there are many people who have 4 girls in high school, one in each grade. Keeps life interesting, to say the least....

Both Ben & Andy are 10 and are in the 5th grade at the middle school. Ben is in Mrs. Ellis's home room class & Andy is in Mrs. Simmons'

A Few "Firsts"

One of the funnest things about hosting an exchange student is being there to experience a "first" with them. There are many things we have and do that they don't in their countries. So here are a few American firsts for them.......

Film LOVES the big round thing that you go up in the air on! She had to call her Mom and tell her all about this!

GARAGE SALE!!! Now why would we buy other peoples garbage? Hey, I was pretty stoked about the Art Easel I got Francine for $10. As the girls helped me put it in the back of the vehicle, Film said, "We go home and wash this good!"

Can you believe Mountain Dew is an American delicacy?

Both Marlene & Film tried Mountain Dew for the first time & are hooked!

And how about Wal Mart? They love going into Wal Mart, "You can get everything here!"
